ChipGuide under California, Roaring 20's Paul Cummins. Restaurant and nite club on La Cienega Avenue, then known as "Restaurant Row." Chip is believed to have been for tips or dances, as card games were forbidden in Beverly Hills.
Now for the fun: Paul Cummin's Roaring 20's ended up in Seattle, WA where it's shown on the ChipGuide as being a card room. They were used at a World's Fair held there - but with different colors and a special inlay commemorating the good times. Don't know if any of the $1.50 Los Angeles chips went up to see the Fair, or not.
There are some photos and stories of Paul Cummins on the internet such as this flapper girl sliding down a fire pole there. And that's about as naughty as this site will allow me to be.

Feel free to browse around for more. It's dinner time for me! Wish I had a Lum's Steamed In Beer. . .
