Re: vbg LAKE TAHOE "Chips of the Day" ...

Frank, I spent quite a bit of time in the Bonanza Club when I worked at Tahoe during the summer
of 1966. To enter the club you had to enter Hank's Bar and make two sharp lefts. There was a 21
and crap on the right and a poker table in the back. There were only about a half dozen mechanical
slots. It was a pretty small place. Hank Staben ALWAYS dealt 21 and Willie Musso dealt craps. I
think Willie's wife, Frankie, dealt poker. The place was never too busy. George Beyers, the Douglas
County sheriff used to hang out there and one time I saw him pull a gun on a guy. I spent a lot
of time talking to Willie. I always wondered why there two different $1 chips (and two $5 ?) for
just one issue. I don't remember ever seeing a sign that said Bonanza Club. Wish I'd have taken
a picture.
