The casino had several assignements: Grande Casino Peninsular, Casino Peninsular, Casino da Figueira da Foz and Casino da Figueira).With the gambling legalisation in Portugal in 1928 is created the Sociedade do Grande Casino Peninsular, which gets the first gambling license. The gambling starts officially in the Grande Casino Peninsular, where has always been played since its opening in September 3, 1884. The casino has been operating in the same building, which has suffered several renovations over the years.It is the oldest casino operating in all the Iberian Peninsula ( Portugal and Spain).
