Actually looking at the true numbers the total number of deaths is slowly going down. There are spikes, but all in all things are slowly getting under control.

The stats and graphs are quite interesting and does give you a true sense of perspective in regards to cases and deaths per million including countries and states.
I live in Orange County, California and the fact of the matter is our county has averaged only about 2 1/2 fatalities per day attributed to Covid-19.
O.C. Is a pretty densely occupied area and theme park central for SoCal. The real numbers for my area are out there but not widely reported.
Central Florida seems to be in a pretty similar space as well.
