Gene - Actually, I'm not thrilled with any of the three words (phrases) that you prefer. They all carry negative connotations. I've taken the liberty of consulting my dictionary, and to the best of my understanding (and mind you, I've only earned two degrees (B.S. and M.B.A.) so I'm certainly not an authority on the English language and must defer to your expertise) none of them seem to fit.
