Most governments seem to have been caught out with the rapid spread of the virus and some were warned about it in January but didn't take it "seriously" so Trump probably is not alone in that but trying to lie your way out of a major error of judgement is not the best way to go.
Herd immunity may not have been the best idea in the world either but supposedly that's what science said may be best so it was tried.
Let's just hope that it can be stopped and that a vaccine is found before too many more people die and a 2nd or 3rd wave of infections don't hit anywhere. We can hope.
