This story appeared in the Hawthorne paper a while back. I thought it was worth posting.
Mike Gallo was the uncle of Ernest and Julio Gallo the famous winemakers. He was shunned
by his family because of his illegal activities which included scams, bootlegging, and murdering
his wife. The book "Blood and Wine" is a interesting read. What the book or article doesn't
mention is that he owned the Columbo and Rolo casinos in Reno in 1944 and 1947. See Kling.
