At last years convention (my first), the common Thunderbird partial set (1,25, and 100 i think) at auction was the very first obsolete chips I ever bought. The next day I had fun finding the 5, which in retrospect was not very difficult, however, it introduced me to the world of older chip collecting. Since then I have added many more older chips this year to my collection via eBay, but my Thunderbird set remains my sentimental favorite.

I hope to add to it at the convention this year if we have one, and to hopefully round out my other current favorites, Silverbird and Last Frontier.
