I think that we can all agree that our little hurts in giving can never approach the terrible hurts in those who have lost loved ones. We just learned that two more of our alums in the Cantor/Fitzgerald firm were among the 700 in that firm that died when the plane blew apart the top of the North Tower. But there is a terrible irony: the head of the firm was late to work as he had to drop off one of his children at a day care center. He survived. Can you imagine his grief knowing that his entire company of friends and employees are gone. His sister is one of our alums and was not in the building that day. But their young brother, who went to one of our high schools is among the dead. Their own parents perished in an accident and they raised the boy.
