Robert, thanks for the walk down memory lane! It was many years ago. I bought the chips from the former owner of the "Our Bar" for face value. He use to play poker
with me at Texas Hotel & Casino. There was only 100 of the $25.00 chips. The chip was gone in the first half hour of the line progression. One of the requirements to get the
chip was you had to sign up a new member. Man, did I get the criticism for what I tried to do. Mike Skelton was President and he sure did not like what I was doing. We later
became friends but if the Oneal's had not been involved I'm afraid I would have gotten a lot more aggravation. At the time it sure soured me on doing any future promotions.
Instead of trying to make a profit, I got the idea to sell them at our chip convention for face value. Both Janis and Jerry O'Neal as well as Jim Steffner gave of their time and effort
to help make the promotion a success. Would I do it again, probably. However, now I am much wiser than I was as a new member back then.
Thanks again, Jim
