This is my office desk covered in 627 chips from my collection, each from a unique Nevada casino. I need to collect more chips from the 260 remaining casinos on my list and then I'll get crackin' on covering my coffee table next. If you click the link at the bottom, you can see which chips/casinos I'm still searching for, and maybe one (or more) of your chips can become part of my display!
As you can see in the pictures, each chip is in an airtight and all of the chips are covered by a clear, thick vinyl mat which keeps things flat and level while still giving me access to change things up if I want. Wouldn't be as easy if I used glass, which was my original thought.
For this first pattern, I chose to start with specific colors at each edge and blend toward a large red field in the center. Other than that, the placement is random (not alphabetical or arranged "geographically", for instance) with all chips in the same orientation so I can read them instead of working. I neglected to enter the position of each chip in my tracking spreadsheet so I don't know, offhand, which 627 chips are on the desk. This also means I have no idea what the "book value" of my desk is right now. I'm sure I'll make a project out of that task soon.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the before/after pics.
