Be careful not to fall into the same thinking into which those who wear sheets and hoods fall. We've already had too much of that in this country.

I, too, am enraged, grief-filled, and shocked by yesterday's events. I also want those who perpetrated those acts brought to justice. But if we are not careful, we will be having lynchings just as we had in the days before our civil rights reforms. Many of us are old enough to remember those times, and we wouldn't want history to repeat itself.
