last summer as I started to back out from my liquor store to enter a busy front road, my shoe came off and stuck under the brake pedal; I couldn't free it; started out into the traffic; managed to turn car and bump into a small bush like tree; broke tail light plastic guard--whew--a few bucks, right? No. $2,100; $1,700+ in labor to repair tiny dent in fender and scratches on bumper. Better than a month in a hospital and a totaled car though.
