I think the message we were both trying to get across was that the defense of our country begins with the defense of our borders.
The airports in a sense are also our borders.
As long as we have what amounts to open borders we can never protect the security of our way of life.
A foreigner shows up on our soil, claims political asylum, is given a court date to show up for a hearing and is never seenn again.
A "student' shows up with a student visa, and is never seen again.
Just 2 examples where airports play an important part in the security of the country.
