Spent much of Saturday afternoon tossing my termite-filled boards onto a trash collector truck. Only got half of our debris loaded before the junkman declared he had just 15 minutes to get to the dump before it closed, so off he went. After that - I was ready for some fun Sunday adventures.
Back to Kobey's at the Pechanga Arena. There always seem to be at least a few treasures to be found, with some careful looking and yesterday was no exception:
A variety of tokens - Desert Island chip - strange MGM Grand Classic Crown chip keychain, noted the Paulson hats-and-canes mold - what use was made of it in the resort?
Holland-American flask - fill it with Dutch Schnapps and you can sing with the Sea Lions. A little Viejas shovel (sniff, sniff) probably from the most recent casino expansion, building the new multi-story parking lot (snort!) and hotel wing - now, just what could you do with that shovel?
Afterward, I drove over to Viejas - was awarded another $5 comp chip. While waiting in line to get it from the cage, a lady in front of me in a Scooter seemed to be having problems starting and rolling around, she moved it in a jerky fashion. Her turn finally came and she hit the accelerator (or whatever those things have) and BOOOMMM! Ran right into the cage wall. Tribal Security came running. She denied being hurt, the scooter seemed no worse for the wear, and eventually the staff determined "Their Property" had not been damaged. Film at 11. I was hanging around as a witness if needed (yeah, I'm in the movie too) but was relieved to be able to go and do something constructive. Namely, play Extreme Tornado, where I hit a $150 jackpot. And then scooted outta there.
