I would think Sheldon Smith has previously worked out a deal to buy any old chips that come in to be redeemed at the cage. Ha ha who knows, but if I lived in Las Vegas I think I’d become friends with the owners and request first shot at buying any obsolete chips that get cashed in.
Who knows, maybe even the cage workers are on to these and buy and sell ??? I’ve tried myself to buy some from the Treasure Island but since changing hands will not sell the Parrot and Ship chips that were used by previous owners. Same with the Paris Jetons, if I could only get a set of the higher denoms and any plaques they might have had, that would be more than awesome. As far as the El Cortez I’ve always wanted the Ship chip from there.
