This is true, BUT, not everybody is going to the Convention or any other chipshow. Not everybody is online and yes we have members who do NOT 'actively' participate in the club.
They are members but do not want to take part in this. (which is their right)
BUT THOSE WHO DO ACTIVELY participate in club events are mostly online and for a few exceptions most of them are on the 'List' or are a slabfree member.
THOSE are the people who help the club at the conventions (setting up, running the auction, in contact with chipmanufactures, in contact with the hotels/casinos, etc), sending in articles for the club magazine, running and updating the clubs website and many more things.
THOSE are the people the club NEEDS to run the club and its activities. Of course not all members have time to spend for the club and it is impractical would ALL 2000+ members would actively do something for the club.
So the 400 or so on the List IS THE MAJORITY who make things happen for the Club. Take them away and NOTHING would happen, NO convention, NO magazine, NO website etc.
Just my opinion and sorry for the errors and maybe not so good English.
