First I would like to say my name is on the list and I am against slabbing in any way, shape or form. I see absolutely NO benefit from it.
But my question is...........
If the club membership is in excess of 2000 people and there only 400 on the list. How can we say the majority of the people are against all forms of slabbing? Hasn't this list been circulating for about 8 months, give or take 1? Hasn't it been at all the shows and last years convention to get more names? Do we really have that many people afraid to sign the list that are really against slabbing? Or are a ton of people on the fence about the issue? Or has the issue/list just not come in contact with that many of the club members? Or is there a bunch of people against salbbing but not against all the things of the list?
I obviously don't know the answer.
But having degrees in Math and Statistics, I do know that 400 of 2000 is NOT a majority. In fact it's not even close. And for us(since I'm on the list) to say that the majority of the club is against slabbing - is perhaps wrong.
Please correct my thinking if I'm wrong.
I really don't want to see slabbing in our hobby.
