Lots of gripes here (some deserved, I suppose) about the Post Office. But today I had a very happy experience with the USPS.
Yesterday (Aug 15) the tracking of the Flamenco chips (see separate post below, selling some) I was to receive showed delivery to my building; tracking said " Delivered, Parcel Locker, 3:47 PM" (The building where I live has a bank of postage boxes in the mail room. There is a box for each apartment, and two large Parcel Lockers for large packages. If a large package is delivered, the mailman puts it into one of the Parcel Lockers, closes it locked, and puts the key of the Parcel Locker into the correct apartment mailbox.)
But when I went down to the mailroom on Aug 15th, my mail box contained no key, no package. Aug 16th, I telephoned the post office and spoke to a wonderful very friendly person. He contacted the letter carrier, who made a special trip to my building. It seems the package was delivered to the Parcel Locker on the 15th, but somehow the mailman didn't put the key into my mailbox. So due to my phone call, he put the key into my mailbox on the 16th, and I retrieved the package.
Nice quick service.
Happy customer of USPS,
