Our hobby does a lot to warn collectors about fake chips. There's an extensive fantasy section on the Club website. The Chip Rack and The ChipGuide both identify fake chips. In particular TCR seems to list fake chips (like Borland chips) which can easily be mistaken for real and not include obvious fake chips like ones with the closing dates on them. Not positive but I think that none of the fake chips I referenced in my earlier message are referenced anywhere. The TCR policy would be my preference with the ChipGuide meaning that real looking fake chips be included in the main listing with a warning and not in the "Fantasy" section. This would involve deciding what's a real looking fake vs an obvious fake. I would also encourage collectors with real looking fake chips to submit them to the ChipGuide. The ChipGuide is somewhat inconsistent in that certain chips like Silver Bird fakes are in the main section and not in the Fantasy section
