In the old days the "tulle" was actually fine ~~~

~~~ mesh (net) thread that was applied just below the protective surface and upon finishing the edge was cleaned. In this case you can still see the thread net on the edge... which is due to shrinkage of the plastic core. In later manufacture the tulle was litho.

Those "Veins" are known a "tulle" in the industry.

My doctor calls the Veins . . .
