Actually, many sets of these chips were found....

in Cuba.

These were sets of 7 denominations. (see below). These chips were considered to be part of the old "French Casino" or exFrench Casino" as some liked to call it. Also, inlaid Fleur-de-lis chips were attributed to be used as Roulette for the French casino. These Fleur-de-lis were also used in many small casinos and illegal "house casinos", very abundant throughout the history of gaming in Cuba. (see below)

This casino was located in the first floor of the large and also important "Centro Gallego" (see below). At its time, probably between 20's-30's, this French Casino was probably one of the most important of Cuba. The best entertainment and service was there and for a long time they had the largest amount of tourism (For some reason cannot upload the pict. I have of the French casino...sorry).

The truth is that both types of chips were found in abundance in Cuba, so clearly they were used there. However, were they actually used in the French Casino or the ex-French Casino, as it was officially known ??
The answer is in the old libraries which have been locked to the public since Fidel took over. Hopefully one day these libraries will be open before some of us kick the bucket. That will probably be my last trip to Cuba.
