On my bucket list, visiting the Palmdale Swap Meet which I pass by on my way to Las Vegas (the "back route"). This morning I decided to give it a try rather than driving all the way down to San Diego.
Funny old "cowboy" style swap, parking lot is gravel and the vehicles (mostly pickups) go scrunching along. $2 entry fee, not bad. More vendors than I expected but very little in the way of gambling memorabilia. Watched a guy in the parking lot selling and balancing tires. Eventually I grew tired of that.
Inside - a suitcase of blank dice mold chips. No dice. Some refrigerator magnets with generic Las Vegas designs. I'm not attracted to magnets.
Finally found a gentleman selling a few coins and a couple of tokens. He beseeched me to buy some of his French Francs but frankly, i was looking at the tokens.
Ended up with just one token but it's one I've never seen before - an A.J. Giametta Royal Caribbean Casino Royale $5 piece.
Also bought an electrical device to dim my living room light. Now that's a switch!
