Goood Evening Fellow Chippers!
What follows is the first of the reports on the casinos I hit on my vacation through Arizona and New Mexico.
Went to Colorado too, but I did all those casinos last time I made this trip to my Aunt's House.
Would have done some collecting in Utah too, but...
So, +- 300 miles to Phoenix from Las Vegas, Some nice desert scenery as shown below. Don't make the mistake of stopping in Wikiup for gas. Crooks. Listed 3.99/gal on the sign, bad enough, but you get to the pump and it's .20/gal more if you use your credit card. 4.19/gal! The Arco stations here in Las Vegas pull this same trick, but it is only a .10/gal difference, and they state it clearly. The rest of AZ was like 2.39/gal. Avoid Wikiup!
There was one outlier on the path I'd figured out for the casino run, so I had to stop at Desert Diamond on my way to checking into my Motel room. 6 hours driving, and I'm tired, but gotta start the tour!
Desert Diamond Casino West Valley
Nice enough place, very busy on Mothers Day. Slots only. Got a slot card with $10 free play cashed out with $2.54 for the $1 I put in to activate the free play. Overall nice place for a slot house, looks like they're putting on a large expansion. Maybe chips in the future?
