So....coincidentally the have the same initials. Not sure if they had a Saturday night game going on...but I believe they are connected some how.
No date on the card for the chips....but I believe between 1960 and 1963. Spickerman is listed as living in Belmont in 1977 and 1998-2002.

The closest I see to him being in San Diego is this ship immigration ...1961
