Upon Palazzo opening the only $5 house chip available had "Grand Opening" on the inlay. I always thought that was the only chip until about 5 years ago when Ross Poppel showed me a chip - sans "Grand Opening".

I didn't recall ever seeing them on e-bay, at a show, in an auction, or offered on this forum, so i immediately went to palazzo. There were thousands of them: soiled, rounded-edged, and wafer thin.

Over the last 5 years i have been in the venetian/palazzo almost on a weekly basis checking the main cage, poker cage, high limit cage, even the sportsbook (yes, they have chips). My search yielded exactly two chips in great condition, one is entrenched in my collection and the other is offered on e-bay. I only have the one for sale.

I am definitely obsessive-compulsive when it comes to knowing new releases, obsoletes, what is cashable at what casinos, etc. and i totally missed this chip, so others may have as well. CHECK YOUR COLLECTIONS!!!
