I've always thought sniping referred to outbidding another bidder at the last second, not waiting until the last second to be the FIRST bidder on an item. Whenever I list items I always set the minimum at the lowest amount I'll be happy with, and that way I never have to worry about who bids or when they do. If ANYBODY bids, I'm satisfied with the price I get. As a buyer, if a seller changes his minimum bid price at the last minute, I'll be sure to avoid his auctions in the future. Just my opinion.
