It now appears that when you choose to "revise it" (which can only be executed prior to any bid) - the revise it form also allows you to revise the opening bid and the duration of the auction, as well.
I first noticed this when I went to revise an auction a few days ago. I noticed the "opening bid" provision was there... and I tried it; it worked (I lowered an opening bid).
Now one can save a relisting fee if one decides to increase / lower the opening bid, as there is no reason to terminate the auction and start anew.
Also looks like a good tool to combat "snipers" by pulling a price increase on them just seconds prior to their shot (when no bids)... if the system also allows an increase as it does a lowering of an oening bid (probably an increase in fees, too, if the new opening bid moves into a new structure.
Has anyone tried to increase, yet? As I said, I lowered the opening bid with no problem on one auction.
