Exchange Club, Beatty

Beatty and the Exchange Club were some of my favorite places ever since I first passed thru
in 1966. I enjoyed playing the old mechanical slots there. Back then there were nine bars not
counting Fran's Star Ranch. The Exchange was built in 1906 and almost destroyed by fire in 1987.
Thanks to a fast acting fire department (probably volunteer) it was confined to the second floor.
It was remodeled but was never the same. I was disappointed when the place closed. Some of
earlier places were St. Peter's, Oasis, M&M, Gold Ace, and Atomic. I missed out on those. The PC
of the homestead is Martin Beatty's for whom Beatty is named. Also shown is an early shot of
the Beatty Club owned by Ray May.
