I knew Felix's widow Eve DeVere when she had a antique shop on Carson St. here in Las Vegas.
She sold me some of his cheating stuff including a crap stick with a hollow handle (to bust out
crooked dice) and a card hold out device that strapped to your arm. I also bought some FD chips she
said were used in games he operated around town. She told me a story about them and a chip
company in Phoenix that made the headlines in the Vegas paper but I can't remember the details.
She told me Felix was a pretty sharp guy and it was a shame he didn't pursue some honest
occupation. Eve said she was a cocktail waitress at the Last Frontier when it opened and sold
me a hand painted liquor bottle that sat on the back bar. Gee, I wish I still had all that stuff.
Felix is buried at Palm Mortuary on Main St. He is just a couple spots from my friend Warren
Stanley.
