I'll tell you why its fake. First of all I've been collecting ivory chips for over 25 years, I think I can tell a fake when I see one. Second I would be willing to bet it is bone. And last of all the scrimshaw is perfect, more then likely done by machine. Real ivory chips are hand scrimshawed, its very easy to tell.
