I sometimes feel like the answer is "no, I did six years in the National Guard" but I guess it counts?

Did my time in a Headquarters Battery of an artillery unit and got into rifle training, shot matches, assisted the officers. Yes I was Corporal Klinger. All that squishy time, driving and shooting got me into the counter sniper squad which very fortunately I never had to actually do. Unit librarian, Projectionist, drove a Duce and a Half, delivered messages. The two weeks of "summer camp" was my only vacation time from work for those six years, which made it enjoyable.
