hi jerry, thanks for the great post and nice offer
i am not a "club" guy, i have no interest in joining the cca. i am a vegas chip/token/trinket collector who has no animus feelings against the club itself. if cca issues, business, etc. were discussed only on the cca message board i would never comment on them as i feel it is none of my business as a non-member.
but the cca is prominently discussed and invoked on this public message board so i feel i have every right to comment. my comments have not been anti-club yet i am attacked by cca representatives and officers with no thought or consideration to the content of my comments. my objection to certain past club activities have nothing to do with the club itself, but those operating in the name of the club.
i will use my culotta argument. i was against the booking of culotta for speaker. when i stated my objection to an admitted abuser and murderer being made an honorary cca member and feted at the banquet, i was immediately insulted and raked over the coals as some cca reps took my objection as a personal insult. this "personal insult" became the their focus instead of the actual murderer! what is your opinion of culotta being a speaker and member jerry?
this is certainly not an isolated incident. anytime a poster presents a dissenting opinion against the "club", they are responded to in a negative way. i have never in my life seen a group of people whose focus was on their "collecting club" rather than the actual collectibles themselves.
here is a solution: discuss all cca business on the cca message board and hold member only sales/auctions on the cca message board. if this is not practical then cca members should be prepared for non-members freely participating and giving opinions on the board.
i am glad you are now president jerry, your positivity and affable "bed-side manner" are a great improvement over your predecessor. thank you and good luck!
