I have utilized TCB for many years, many of which were when Greg operated it. I see people asking about chips they have found but know nothing about. I see people sharing "treasures" that they have found for the joy they experienced in the find. I have seen people post chips they were willing to trade for chips they desired. I see people selling chips to others who may desire them. I see people sharing stories of their finds. I see people sharing plans for get-togethers where many can share stories and exchange chips. I see many individuals post questions on the board and have others with more knowledge answer them.
As I scan the board, I pass over sales if I am not interested in buying. But I read many bits and pieces of other postings that increase my knowledge, create laughter or please my senses with pictures of chips, tokens, postcards, photos of early Vegas and even cars (which I love). I have never had a sense that it was a "good old boy" environment but I take some pride in having been a member of CCGTCC for almost 20 years.
I feel complaints about the board pale in comparison to the work it takes to keep the board online and to the energy it takes for many individuals to post items of interest to them. As for attracting new members, they find us if they are interested.
BTW, I really miss Gene Trimble and his "Illegal Of The Day" postings.
Thanks and blessings,
Rich Hodges
