Ja! I recognized the People's Choice as something

"special" as soon as I put my hands on it - in a small stack of other chips, mostly Nevada, but that Fantasy Cruises $5 chip was beside it. Had to keep from drooling and smiling too much as I paid the vendor.

My understanding is that People's Choice was only open for one year, 1980. But ChipGuide shows two different sets of chips. Looks like the ones with the address were a temporary set until the other designs came in. None of this explains the great wear on the chip, though. As if somewhere, the chips received a lot of play over the years, after the casino closure, to get the hot-stamping so worn down.

There is a bit of "glitter" in the chip too, one of those kinds that makes little sparkles as it's held to light.
