Not likely a consistent measure. The printing on one of the inlays here, is off-center (or more likely, miss-cut). Therefore the spiral and it's cog appendices, can be different on a large assortment of these chips.

However, if this off-center result is consistent for all the chips from that issue, then perhaps there is merit in your observation.
