Hi Doug I believe the first runway airfield was behind what is today the Sahara Hotel area (San Francisco Blvd.) ..... also on Boulder Highway and E. Charleston Blvd. they also had a small runway airfield (u.s. air mail) next to the Meadows Hotel Casino .... slot machines were first installed at the Celestial Room ... a cocktail lounge for first class passengers & vip's ... they had about 5 slot machines ... this room was upstairs with a view of the runways .... back in the late 1930's era ... take care
