Good point about the 1/4". I've had some clerks question me about the envelope with the cardboard mailer but I would show them that it is "bendable" and less than 1/4" think. Accepted after that. I have dropped padded envelopes in the mail with just one or two "forever" stamps and have never had any returned. Of course this loses the tracking.
