Re: Ebay Will Require Sellers collect Sales Tax

It's unclear to me (from reading the eBay notice) who pays the sales tax -- added to buyer's final amount due, or deducted from seller's net proceeds?

For example, an item that sells for $100 to a buyer in Pennsylvania. Assume a 10% sales tax. Does eBay automatically add $10 to the seller's invoice? Or does the buyer receive only $90? Plus eBay fees to seller, in either case.

Interesting that buyers in the states NOT requiring sales tax collection will have a bidding advantage over those in states with sales tax requirements.

(As a California resident, we've been paying a user fee on Amazon purchases for several years now, even before the Supreme Court ruling. State governments love their taxes!!)
