I don't know how they do it now (having never been to a sports book). I wonder if striking a deal with MGM means NBA and MGM will move to prevent others from having gambling that involves use of team names, logos, etc. In other words, you can't bet on the Cavaliers or the Lakers - they would have to designate them as Cleveland or Los Angeles or LAL. As I imagine it, then, other places will have to use generic descriptions just as everyone except NFL licensees refer to "the big game" rather than the Super Bowl.
