I have a slightly better refund story as a buyer, Rich. Sounds way out there, but I swear, this really happened. A few years ago, when EBay and PayPal were related, I bought a $20 gold piece off of a seller in Florida that had perfect feedback. Something like $1700. After I don’t receive it for a week, I start emailing with no response. I look at his feedback, and all of a sudden, he’s getting negatives. I google his name, and find his obituary in a recent Florida newspaper! I find a phone number for him, and his son picks up, and says his father died suddenly from a heart attack last week, and the woman he was living with has disappeared with all his coins. He even mails me some documentation about his father’s passing. I tell EBay about what I found, and they say they will investigate. I eventually give up on the thing, because the seller got a worse beat than I did on this transaction. About 3 months later, $1700 appears in my PayPal account with little explanation. Like I said, weird, but this really happened.
