I have some very sad news to report to you. Ed has passed, Patti Norris called Nancy and I last night. He went very fast she said; even before the hospice department could get set up in his room.
Ed was my “big brother” and as some of you may have noticed he was not at the convention this year. He had been very ill for the past year, taking Chemo Therapy. I talked to him a week ago, and he had just got out of the hospital, after being in for about 3 days; because of a blood draw. He said they were preparing to go over to Tampa to the Moffitt Cancer Center.
Ed and Patti lived in Palm Beach about a 2 miles from Mira Lago. However, they lived in Albuquerque for many years before that.
Many of you may have known Ed was a builder, he built, remodeled, leased and owned U. S. Post Offices. He also, collected many fine cars, his favorites were his Jaguars. He had a Real Estate school in Albuquerque, and a boat business there. These are just some of the things I know about. He was a very accomplished business man.
Most of you knew Ed the collector and trader of Poker Chips and Tokens. Once you met Ed you were his friend for life, he was one of the most gracious persons you probably have ever met.
Ed donated a large share of his collection to the CCA during our last convention. His friend David Niver from Albuquerque, sold some of this stuff this year at the show, and then Nancy and David tallied the stuff that was to be given to the club.
One thing for sure, we all lost a great friend and contributor to our Club. Services will be held in Albuquerque. For more information, Patti said she would take calls.
A very sadden…Reggie
