Life members, I would have a hard time believing that was used as a deciding factor.

I know that this topic was brought up many times at previous board meetings and while no one loved the idea, it was discussed that it may be an inevitability.

I believe that everyone involved in these discussions was concerned about possibly losing membership just like discussions about possibly cutting the magazine back to 3 issues or even going to a cheaper newspaper type magazine.

Sometimes hard decisions need to be made that we know people will be unhappy with but they are made for the future of the club.

As cost continue to increase for expenditures, there are only 2 options. Either raise dues or cut benefits.

Neither option is a good one but there will come a time where more tough decisions need to be made.

I don't envy future boards having to make those decisions.
