Yes the silver wrap there are a number of Porsche's at the track with nice designs, that instead of paint, one is the silver. The answer is, if the car is new and in good condition, the wrap will actually protect the paint. If it's old and has flaws, they will be just as bad or worse when the wrap is removed.
