Had a choice of Swap Meets this morning: Pasadena or Ventura which is held every 6 weeks and sometimes "steps" on the other shows. I chose the exotic and drove to Ventura. Bad move. Could have stayed home and chose Door No. 2 and met the Tiger.
Nothing at all (well, saw a $25 Regency chip) - about 50% of the usual vendors showed up - found a medallion boasting that "I Saw Halley's Comet." I happen to have seen it, but didn't care to buy brass to prove I was out late that night in '86.
On the way out, I stopped again at one vendor's tables (mostly miliaria) and spotted a glass case I'd overlooked on the first pass. Four slot tokens! Not in my collection, the price was fair, so I bought them mostly so I didn't suffer the indignity of leaving with an empty bag.
Old Fremont ("The Boyd Group") CG071047, Don Laughlin Jennings Delux Sun Chief Slot Machine, two Horseshoe with Benny Binion in fur coat and Dice and Blackjack on the reverse. I already had the 777 Slots reverse design so again, it was something new if not high on the value list. Next month it's back to 'Dena where I am a Weena!
