It is probably no surprise to you all that we went to Green Bay Wisconsin. Green Bay is the home of the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field. What a great tour and facility. The town of Green Bay has a population of 109,000 people and the stadium holds 82,000. The town is all about the Packers. The Packers are the only football team in the NFL that is located in a small town and Lambeau Field is in the middle of suburbia. There is one home that is directly across from the stadium that was on the market for one million dollars. The house is a 2-bedroom, 2 bath and is just 2135 square feet. Apparently, all of the Packer memorabilia in the home is included and the color theme is green and gold, which is why it is on the market for a million. Now the selling point of this house is you are closer to the stadium than some parking spaces, you can have your own tailgate party and be home for the after-game party in just minutes.

We did a tour of the Hall of Fame Museum and the stadium. It is way cool. The Hall of Fame museum has memorabilia of the players inducted into the pro football hall of fame including Bart Starr, Vince Lombardi and Curly Lambeau. They have one room in the museum with the trophies from their 13 national championships. The stadium was built in 1957 and has been expanded and renovated over 9 different times. The most significant being in 2013 when the Atrium was added. This included the Hall of Fame Museum, additional luxury boxes, restaurant, the administrative offices, the Packer gift shop and areas for almost any size of catered event. Last year the stadium hosted 800 different events including over 100 weddings. The stadium is open 363 days a year, unless they have a game on Christmas, then it is also open on Christmas.
The Packers have sold out every game since 1960, Lombardi was the coach beginning 1959 to 1968. There are over 115,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets and less than 70 become available per year. When they did the renovations, there was discussion about taking out the stadium seating and replacing the benches with seats, but they would lose about 10,000 seats. How about being one of those 10,000 that was told you were going to lose your seat!!! Now for Tampa Bay fans that clearly sounds unbelievable since there is a plethora of tickets available.

The tour itself took us all over the stadium. We went to the luxury boxes, press boxes, top of the stadium, the visiting locker room etc. The gift shop is located on the lower level and bigger than most department stores. For a brief few moments even Fred and I became cheeseheads.

If you ever have the opportunity to take the tour, by all means take the tour.
