Jim
If I remember correctly at the end of the convention last year you boasted that all the educational spots were already full. When you received requests from members after that why did you not relay that information to the board at the time of the requests. You turned down those requests on your own.
I would have thought everything you think I should have done you would have done through channels before it got to me. You saw there was an interest and didn't feel it warranted any further attention. I do believe that the Club Membership is in dire need of revitalization. As I stated in my previous post,If there are no members there will be no show and no club.
The numbers have shown a steady decline in the last few years. You minimize the issue but if you look at the many posts you see there is always comments on trying to bolster our ranks.
While the hobby is good, the club is not in good shape. The seminar by Rick Timmins and his recommendations are a first step in trying to get the club on a successful path. Look at the Statements made by all the candidates for office. This is not a trivial issue. It needs to be addressed now.
In the last two weeks you have opted to relinquish your duties twice. Here on this issue and on the misunderstanding of recruiting a volunteer speaker. You have the honor of being a Hall of Famer, A highly coveted title. I would think your wisdom and experience would preclude you from walking away when there is an issue. I am open to criticism and comments as I do not know everything but walking away when there is a disagreement is not in my DNA.
If you would like to talk further face to face at the convention I will be more than happy to clear the air. I hope you reconsider your decision to resign your position.
