To be perfectly clear there is no attempt here to hurt any of the dealers and their sales effort. To the contrary all the marketing that is spent on the show is to bring members and non members to the show. The dealers and their participation are crucial to the success and survival of the club.
The Membership Committee will be hosting that seminar to highlight and inform our membership of ways to bolster our membership. In the long run this helps the dealers and the club. The Membership Committee has come up with a plan to help us alleviate the slow drain on our membership.
I believe that warrants some special consideration.
There is no direct way to reach a large group of our members at one time. In the absence of any type of a monthly news letter via e-mail the Boards are the only way to communicate. A survey was sent out with questions to determine what interest there was. Due to the amount of respondents it was felt a more public venue would help gather more information and comments.
In my opinion if this issue is not directly addressed in every possible way there will not be a club much longer. I believe we have a great club and my only agenda has and will always be to make this organization prosper for all.
Why you were not informed is a mistake and you are correct in the fact that you should have known. For that omission that responsibility is mine.
Your efforts in gathering speakers and arranging for the seminars is stellar and greatly appreciated.
