Update on the aftermath of my Truck-b-que.
Geico was good. Fire was Saturday, had check in hand on Thursday afternoon. I'd have had it sooner if I'd found the title right away, and it took a day extra to get my Mobility Scooter Lift taken of the truck before it got towed off. They gave me $3600 for my '99 F-150 and I went out and bought a 2003 F-150 for that amount on Friday. Replacement truck needs about $1000 or so worth of repairs, which is why I got a 4 years newer, 50,000 less mileage truck, "cheap". All in all, I'm going to end up about $2000 out of pocket for this little misadventure, between the property lost in the truck and the expenses of buying the replacement.
Most of the kids in the apartment complex say they know who did it. Proving it is the problem, even with DashCam video from the truck showing the girls running away from the truck when the fire started.
And for those of you who think Comprehensive coverage on a 1999 vehicle is not worth it, well, I didn't hardly sleep all week as it was, and having the insurance company take care of everything has value beyond just I'd have been out $5600 instead of $2000.
