Rich, not a bad idea and one I thought was a

fantastic one years ago.

I personally set up a table at several shows including HUGE ANA shows as well as local shows trying to promote the club and the hobby.

I brought a large display of chips and plaques, handed out free magazines and talked with literally thousands of people who were already "Collectors". Even handed out membership applications.

As far as I can tell, not one person that I ever contacted at these shows has signed up for a membership.

Very few people of the 10's of thousands of people at the coin shows seemed interested in collecting chips and even those who appeared to, still never signed up.

Now, I am not saying we shouldn't continue to try, I am just pointing out that those efforts in the past haven't been nearly as sucessful as I had hoped.
